Gailums and the Muse win the javelin throwing competition “Talsi ‘2022”

Patrick Gailum took the lead with the first shot (79.49 m). In the second series, he fired at a distance of 82.35 meters, in the third opportunity 80.44 meters and in the fourth 78.97 meters.

The next shot was 82.98 meters, but his last shot in the competition was almost as far – 82.67 meters.

Gailuma had his fourth race this spring, in which the 80-meter limit was exceeded.

Chaksh with 79.63 meters had to give way to last year’s winner Strobinder, who took the second place with his best result of the season 79.94 meters.

Gata’s youngest brother Artis Čakšs reached a personal record – 67.57 meters.

In the women’s competition, without starting last year’s winner Anete Kociņa, Līna Mūze won the first litter – 60.77 m.

Until the last litter, the next three were guests – Jo Ane van Dick from South Africa (59.62 m), Rebecca Voltone from Great Britain (57.65 m) and Sarah Jema from Italy (53.78 m). However, with the last – sixth shot, which was also the best result of her season, Madara Palameika was in the fourth place at a distance of 55.57 meters.

The honor of the winner, as two years ago, when his spear was sent 60.49 meters away, went to the Muse.

In the morning, the new generation of Latvian javelin throwers competed.

Kristers Grunte (South Kurzeme Municipal Sports School) won the boys in the U-16 age group with the best result of the season in Latvia – 51.08 meters.

For young women in the U-18 group Dinija Līga Paegle (“Arkadia”) also got the best result of the season in Latvia in her age group – 47.30 meters.

Kristers Krauklis from Smiltene was superior to young people in this age group – 58.38 meters, and Sanija Ozoliņa (Gulbene / MSĢ) was 49.80 meters.
