Champions League with SC Freiburg? Nothing is impossible!

Sometimes there are bright moments in professional football when something shines through that was actually only possible in the past. Some clubs are now providing such feelings that have become rare.

So some people have long since mentally said goodbye to this industry because of the absurd sums of money that professional football moves and may have turned to the local amateur club (although compared to other sports, even in the lowest leagues, there has always been payment). But sometimes there are still those bright moments when something shimmers through in professional football that was actually only possible in the past. And it was a good week for such rare feelings.

SC Freiburg is the prime example, the great role model – a club that achieves more than is actually possible, that has no chance to play with the big ones and still uses it. As things stand, there could be a final for a place in the Champions League at Bayer Leverkusen on the last day of the game. And can you somehow imagine that Freiburg would then compete in the premier class against Real Madrid, Manchester City or Liverpool FC next season? And where could that end in Freiburg if they could just carry on as before and stay together as a team?
