Fortitudo baseball also beat Turin in the two matches on Saturday, yet another white-blue sweep

The 2022 Championship continues to the sound of victories Fortitudo baseball that places yet another sweep seasonal, and first of the Poule Scudetto, beating the Campidonico Grizzlies Torino in all three races. After the victory in Race 1 on Friday, which we have already reported, yesterday, between one storm and another, the victories also arrived in Race 2 and Race 3, respectively with the result of 7-1 and 4-0. Effe is thus first in Group B and, to date, the only team still unbeaten.

Race 2 – Fortitudo-Turin 7-1

The match on Saturday afternoon saw a good performance by the two starting pitchers despite their work being interrupted twice due to the thunderstorms that hit Bologna (and beyond). Maurizio Andretta in fact he closed the first four innings without taking any points, then replaced by Bassani, after the first point gained by Turin, who then led the match without problems. The guest pitcher instead after being welcomed by the two doubles of Ricardo Paolini and Gonzales Taveraswho immediately brought the Fortitudo to the1-0he then recovered widely but was betrayed by his teammates in the third inning, when with three consecutive errors allowed L’Aquila to score 2-0.

Good work of the Andretta-Bassani couple on the mound, with only one point, four hits and a base ball granted, while in attack almost all the biancoblù men move well despite the good performance of the Turin starter, with an average team of .407with Gonzalez scoring his first home run with the Fortitudo shirt and Bertossi who achieves a 1 out of 1 which is also worth an RBI.

Race 3 – Fortitudo-Turin 4-0

With Fortitudo winning the first two challenges, the third match between Bolognese and Piedmontese arrives, with the hosts who once again start with their foot on the acceleratorwith the first inning already useful for directing the game. Mourilo Gouvea grants only a base ball and then to the change of court Ricardo Paolini beats a single, Kevin Josephina is deleted and Gonzalez Taveras arrives in first on the choice of the defense who, however, fails to eliminate even Paolini who arrives safely in second. Renzo Martini is eliminated but Paolini and Gonzalez advance and the Turin Manager decides to fill the bases to try a double game, granting an intentional base to Gilmer Lampe. Riccardo Bertossi, however, ruins the guest planand with a hit he manages to get two of his teammates home, with Lampe who stops in third, but during Agretti’s turn at bat the Dutchman scores the 3-0 “stealing” home plate.

At this point pitchers take the stage for two and a half innings, when in the lower part of the fourth, Fortitudo scores again. After the two ball bases granted to Filippo Agretti e Alessandro Grimaudois a valid one than usual Paolini to push the first one home for the point of the final 4-0.

Well on the mound Gouvea (only 2 valid and 1 base ball allowed) e Christian Scafidi, which detects the biancoblù starter and in the last two innings concedes only one valid against 4 strike outs out of seven athletes faced (21 strikes out of 28 pitches made). In attack, in addition to Bertossi (2 out of 3, 2 RBI and 1 stolen base) are reported the usual Paolini (2 out of 4) ed Ernesto Liberatore (2 of 3).
