Former U17 hopeful, Pierre Biscotti had also played in the Euro: “I was stressed and went back to school”

Pierre Biscotti played the Euro U17 in 2012 and now plays in amateur D2, at 27 years old.

According to our criterion of 50 games played as a pro, 45% of Belgians selected for a Euro U17 did not break through. A painful passage that Pierre Biscotti tells us about. He had played the 2012 tournament with Leander Dendoncker while moving from Saint-Trond to Standard. But, at 27, he is now playing at Warnant in amateur D2.

What memory do you keep of this Euro U17 in Slovenia?

“It was the discovery of the professional world. There was the hotel, the supporters, the press… It was new for all the players, except for two or three who were already in the core A of their club. We taste the professionalism and it makes you want to stay there. Afterwards, it’s complicated to return to the level of young people in a club. You want to skip the stages.”

A Euro U17 can therefore have a negative effect on young people?
