FC Bayern: plain text from Alexander Nübel on his return to Munich! – Bundesliga

Plain text from Bayern loan Alexander Nübel (25)!

After Thomas Müller’s (32) contract was extended until 2024, the fans are now waiting for Manuel Neuer (36/contract until 2023). If the deal with the national keeper is through, it would mean the end of the German record champions for Nübel after his Monaco loan (until 2023).

Nübel clearly at the “DAZN roundtable for Ligue 1”: “If Manu should still be there when I come back, it will probably be nothing. If Manu is still there, it makes no sense! Then I have to sit down with FC Bayern and see what the best solution is for Bayern and for me.”

He wants games like the one in Monaco (46 competitive games, 14 clean sheets) instead of bench seats and training on Säbener Straße: “I came to the realization here. I get my motivation for every training session from the games. Game rhythm is just different than training. Now I have to say clearly: I don’t want to miss the games.”

The ex-Schalke (contract until 2025 with Bayern) almost completely rules out another loan from 2023: “Basically I’m open to it, but I tend to prefer a different solution. Actually, I’m more in favor of taking a different path.”

Is number one in Bayern still the big goal? Nübel now thinks differently here too: “Basically, yes. The perspective has changed, however, because there are other clubs as well.” He classifies his contact with Bayern as “fewer at the moment”.

A return to another Bundesliga club is also possible in 2023!

The keeper: “I’m open, I don’t have a dream. If the package is right, I’d rather go there. Playing the Champions League is always a goal. I wouldn’t say a prerequisite. I can also imagine coming back to the Bundesliga – even if the club isn’t called FC Bayern.”

Despite only four appearances, he has no regrets about his year in Munich: “The one year at Bayern was not wasted. I would take that step again and again! You never know how often you have the chance to switch to FC Bayern Munich. In the end, everything went well with the loan.”

And what has the Monaco loan (“I’m staying for another year and a half. That’s a deal.”) brought him so far?

Nübel: “My communication has improved, the rhythm and my self-confidence. That came back! That makes me very happy. I feel like playing and being on the pitch every matchday. I’m developing my personality further, and being abroad is also very important.”

The 25-year-old is currently not at all concerned with the national team and the 2022 World Cup in Qatar: “There is no exchange and actually no hope. We have great goalkeepers in Germany who play at a high level. You can see from Manuel that you can also play very well in old age. What happens after 2022 is open. I can only attract attention with my performance and then you will see if that’s enough. But I don’t come home every day and hope for a call.”
