Karim Benzema look good together Real Madrid, especially against an English club in Liga Champions this season. The 34-year-old player was very sharp in the knockout phase.
Madrid eliminated Manchester City in the 2021/2022 Champions League semifinals. In the match at the Santiago Bernabeu, Thursday (5/5/2022) early morning WIB, Madrid won 3-1 over The Citizens.
With that result, Madrid has the right to advance to the Champions League final because they won on aggregate from Man City 6-5. Liverpool are against Madrid in the Champions League final this season.
Benzema has been very productive in the Champions League this season. So far, the French player has recorded as many as 15 goals, topped the list of top scorers.
Opta noted that Benzema was able to score as many as seven goals against the English team. This record is the most recorded by one player in a Champions League season.
Against Chelsea in the Champions League quarter-finals, Benzema was able to score four goals. Benzema scored a hat-trick in Madrid’s 3-1 win over Chelsea at Stamford Bridge.
Meanwhile, when Madrid against Man City, Benzema was able to score three goals. Two goals against City were scored from the spot.
Madrid can also lean on Benzema against Liverpool in the final. The French striker has a good record against the Merseyside side. In the last five matches against Liverpool, Benzema has scored four goals.
