Draft 2022 | Moussa Diabaté raises his odds in the Draft Combine

After an interesting freshman season in Michigan, Moussa Diabaté announced a month ago that he was going to run for the NBA Draft. But without taking an agent, leaving the door open to a possible return to college.

But after his performances at the Draft Combine in Chicago in recent days, it seems increasingly likely that the Parisian by birth will indeed take the direction of the Great League.

Passed through the various tests, measurements and other physical tests of the Combine on Tuesday, he seems to have made a very strong impression.

With 91.4 cm of trigger with momentum, he finished first among the pivots (10 players). Just like in the agility test (lateral movements) but also in the sprint and the shuttle (two quick round trips over a short distance).

Better, and proof of his optimal physical condition, he finished first among all the participants (61 players) on the measurement of the famous body fat, at only 2.7%!

A future surprise from the Draft?

Moussa Diabaté will still have to deal with offensive and defensive exercises, in addition to the classic small five-on-five matches that close this event.

“Above all, I want to be able to get good feedback,” he said upstream. “Just do my best and see how far I can go and how I can do against all these other players. »

But, as he already did last week on the Indianapolis side where he spent his first workout with an NBA team, Moussa Diabaté does not want to skip the steps.

“I want to show my energy, my defense, my versatility. My ability to go to the circle. I’m lucky to be able to move fast for my size. And I want to show that I know how to shoot too, that I have a good touch. »

Leaving for the United States at the age of 14, Moussa Diabaté therefore touches on his NBA dream, six years later. A meteoric rise which will have to be confirmed in the days to come, before the Draft which will take place on June 23rd. Because, before that, his place is very undecided in the “Mock Draft”, from the end of the first round to his absence…

Six NCAA stats in 2021/22: 9.0 points at 54% success, 6.0 rebounds and 0.9 against average in 25 minutes
