District championship U11, U13 in Herne

Four of our judoka took part in the district championships in the age groups U11 and U13 in Herne today.

Kaisa Kandora (U13, -40kg) and Finnja Stiller (U13, -52kg) both took first place in their group.
Milan Kandora (U11, -29kg) finished third after two wins.
Unfortunately, Johannes Dittmer (U13, -36kg) was not able to place today.

In the -40kg class of the U13, Kaisa fought only one opponent according to the “Best of three” mode. She confidently won two matches and became district champion. In the first game, she countered her opponent with O-soto-gari and received ippon. In the second encounter, our judoka took over her competitor’s attack and won with a hold.

Since no other judoka competed in the -52kg class, Finnja took first place without a fight.

With a great ippon for Seoi-nage, Milan won his first fight in the U11, -29kg age group. After a subsequent defeat, he was able to score in the “small final” after an exciting game with a hold and was happy about the bronze medal.

Johannes Dittmer went motivated on the mat and showed nice fights, but unfortunately couldn’t win today.

On Saturday, May 21st, our judoka will hit the mat at the district championships in Holzwickede.
