Chloé Paquet jostled Aryna Sabalenka before losing in the first round of Roland-Garros

Not impressed, Chloé Paquet doubted Aryna Sabalenka for a long time, Tuesday evening, on the Suzanne-Lenglen court, to finally give in in three sets (2-6, 6-3, 6-4). The French, 101st player in the world, beat the Belarusian to win the first set, taking advantage of the clumsiness of the seeded number 7, who alternated unforced error and winning blow.

But Sabalenka made her power speak to erase a late break at the start of the second set and overcame her frustration to equalize. She continued to be imprecise in the deciding set, but held out a break long enough to prevail against an eye-catching Paquet. Before the last game, she accumulated 49 unforced errors for 41 winning points… Sabalenka will face the American Madison Brengle in the next round.
