Capitals with a convincing 11-0 shutout in Hamburg on Sunday

The Bonn Capitals beat the Hamburg Stealers with a convincing 11-0 shutout on Sunday and remain undefeated in the 1st Baseball Bundesliga North even after ten games. On Saturday they had already won game one of the series in the Hanseatic city 8-1.

On Sunday, the Capitals took the lead early on. Daniel Sanchez and Danny Lankhorst ran the first two runs in the second and third innings to make it 2-0. A sac fly by Wilson Lee and a two-run single by Daniel Lamb-Hunt put the lead 5-0 in the sixth inning. A section later, Bonn ended the game with six more runs. Wilson Lee and Lamb-Hunt each collected two more RBIs during the rally. Together they ended up with a total of eight. Sanchez, Lennart Weller, Justus Recki and Lankhorst scored twice.

On the mound, the Capitals were already preparing for the upcoming Champions Cup in early June. Wilson Lee started with five 3-hit innings. After that, Noah Lindt, Nick Miceli and Paul Schmitz didn’t miss a beat either. In Hamburg, Sean Cruz conceded the defeat after six innings. Simon Bäumer, who returned to Germany after the end of the college season, then celebrated his debut in the Bundesliga.

On Saturday, the Untouchables Paderborn were able to celebrate a double victory and further consolidate second place in the north. They won the Cologne Cardinals. In addition, the Dohren Wild Farmers and Berlin Flamingos shared the victories. Dohren was also able to complete the win in the suspended game against Berlin.

Next weekend, the Cologne Cardinals will welcome Dortmund Wanderers in the north. The Hamburg Stealers have the Berlin Flamingos as guests. In addition, the first of two summit meetings between the Bonn Capitals and Untouchables Paderborn is on the agenda.
