Bundesliga: 2-1 against Fürth, but only staying up in the league is certain in Augsburg – Bundesliga

At the end of the season, Augsburg celebrates a 2-1 win against relegated Greuther Fürth. But not everyone is happy: it’s rumbling in the club!

President Klaus Hofmann (54) resigned on Friday. Officially, the step was voluntary, but according to BILD information, Hofmann was forced to resign due to serious differences within the club’s management.

Boss gone – and the trainer stops too. After the game, Markus Weinzierl (47) surprisingly announced that he would not renew his contract with FCA. The decision was made the night before the game.

► FCA initially appeared more stable on the pitch. Hahn is put down by Raschl, Caliguri sinks the penalty kick to make it 1-0 early (11th).

► The equalizer then came as a surprise: Dorsch loses the ball, Hrgota and Raschl get the ball to Ngankam, who puts the ball into the far corner to make it 1-1 (23′).

Moment of shock in the 35th minute: Dorsch is injured in a header duel with Ngankam and remains dazed on the lawn. The stadium announcer calls paramedics with the stretcher on the pitch. Because that takes too long, keeper Gikiewicz grabs the stretcher and runs to his injured teammate, who then has to be carried off the field. Bitter diagnosis in the hospital: broken collarbone!

The second half begins ugly: FCA supporters fog their curve in the club colors with pyrotechnics and smoke pots. Referee Reichel has to interrupt the game for two minutes.

And it doesn’t get any better: After a skull crash, Fürth defender Asta has to be stapled in the head to stop the bleeding. Nothing for weak nerves.

Gregoritsch ensured Augsburg’s victory in the last game with his goal to make it 2-1 (84th). It is clear: Fürth will not have an away win this season and will say goodbye to the Bundesliga for the second time after 2013 with an away game in Augsburg.
