Chemnitz had won the two duels in the main round as well as in the cup against Bayern. In the BBL quarter-finals, on the other hand, the Munich team was able to prevail with almost no problems. The first two sections of the game ended with 18:15 and 18:16 with a narrow lead. But then the provincial capitals put down a 24:9 run. In the last quarter (17:13) they secured victory.
