Despite all the controversy and criticism, France Football magazine’s Ballon d’Or remains the most important individual award in world football and, of course, the race for this year’s award is already in full swing.
France Football, in turn, announced some changes in the criteria for voting for the award. The main one, however, is that the awards will be based on performance in a single season instead of a year, in addition to no longer taking into account the number of trophies raised, for example.

The 2022 race promises to be the fiercest in all of history, as the performance of the 2022 World Cup, which starts in November, will also not be considered in the voting, but in the 2023 awards.
