On Saturday 14 and Sunday 15 May, the badminton section of the Cercle Jules-Ferry is organizing the eighth edition of the Tournoi des Corsaires. An event now eagerly awaited by badminton players from the Grand-Ouest and beyond. “The players come from afar: Brittany, Normandy and the Pays de la Loire will be represented, but it will also be necessary to count on Ile-de-France, Burgundy and Franche-Comté”, explain Christelle Guio and Gaëlle Gouchet, co-organizers of a tournament that has been sold out for two months.
The event in numbers
230 players, 280 doubles matches (women’s, men’s and mixed), 166 pairs, 7 pitches, 4 rounds ranging from departmental to national level: a marathon weekend for the club’s volunteers without whom the operation would be impossible. “After two seasons without a tournament due to covid, getting back on track was not easy; but when you see the enthusiasm around the competition, it helps”.
Practice
Saturday from 8:30 a.m. to 9 p.m. and Sunday from 8:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. at the flower basket room. Free admission. Catering on site.
