Ahsan/Kevin Lose, Indonesia 0-2 South Korea

KOMPAS.com – Mohammad Ahsan/Kevin Sanjaya Sukamuljo failed to bring Indonesia level against South Korea in the last match of Group A of the 2022 Thomas Cup.

The duel to determine the group winner between Indonesia and South Korea took place at the Impact Arena, Bangkok, Thailand, Wednesday (11/5/2022).

Ahsan/Kevin who were revealed as the first men’s doubles lost 18-21, 21-13 and 12-21 to Seo Seung-jae/Kang Min-hyuk.

These results brought Indonesia behind 0-2 from South Korea. Previously, Indonesia also failed to take points from the first party after Anthony Sinisuka Ginting lost to Heo Kwang-hee.

Furthermore, Indonesia’s struggle will continue with Shesar Hiren Rhustvito who will fight Jeon Hyeok-jin.

Match review

Ahsan/Kevin entered the field when Indonesia was 0-1 down after Anthony Sinisuka Ginting lost in the first match against Heo Kwang Hee.

The Indonesian gado-gado pair did not start the first game well. Ahsan/Kevin are already 0-5 behind Seo Seung-jae/Kang Min-hyuk.

Ahsan/Kevin’s score only changed to 1-5 after Seo Seung-jae failed to return Ahsan’s punch.

However, Ahsan/Kevin have not been able to cut the distance. They actually fell further behind at 1-8 after Kevin’s return confiscated the net.

Kevin’s stated service fault because exceeding the 115 cm limit put the South Korean pair 11-5 ahead in the first game interval.
