Major League Baseball always has a history to give away, but what has been seen in the Nationals Park of the Washington Nationals has rarely been seen in organized baseball.
During the match in which the locals played against the New York Mets and with the vibrant 2-2 draw in the middle of the Big Apple offensive at the top of the sixth, a rat happened to steal the show by running through the stadium gardens.
The director of the transmission did not miss the opportunity to focus on the rodent that stole the laughter of the public and even the players.
Although it is not often to see rats running through the stadiums, there have been other anecdotes with animals in the history of the Majors; one of them was the unfortunate episode that Randy Johnson experienced when he executed a pitch at more than 90 mph and a bird crossed right at that moment.
In addition, there have been situations in which dogs have been seen jumping onto the pitch and even squirrels and moles playing in the grass.
As for the match, The New York Mets continued their overwhelming pace and achieved their 21st victory of the season by beating the Nationals 4-2.
