Vuoto congratulated athletes from the Municipal School of Judo

The mayor congratulated the youth for their outstanding participation in different tournaments, including the one recently played in El Calafate, where they won 6 gold medals; and announced the acquisition of an Olympic tatami, which will allow them to improve their quality of training and receive other delegations.

he mayor of Ushuaia, Walter Vuoto, received the team from the Municipal Sports Institute (IMD) together with the Municipal School of Judo, which represented the city in different tournaments.
The president of the IMD, Guillermo Navarro affirmed that “our athletes are the hotbed of judo in the province”, and said that “the Mayor announced that he is in the process of buying an Olympic tatami for the city”.
Navarro stressed that “last weekend, the municipal Judo school represented us in the tournament that was held in El Calafate where the boys won 6 gold medals,” and added that “many of these boys represent the province in tournaments. such as Epade and Araucania”.
The president of the Municipal Sports Institute assured that during the meeting, “there were moments of great joy where the boys were able to tell and show the work to the Mayor, they brought their medals and trophies.”
He also reiterated that “the Mayor announced to the boys that he is in the process of buying an Olympic tatami, which is a historical request that the entire judo family has been making”, and stated that “this generated a lot of emotion from all the boys and from the Professor Juan Arcos, who has been running the municipal judo school and being the trainer of a large number of athletes who have represented us throughout the country for many years”.
To conclude, the President of the IMD announced that “in the coming months we will have our own place for the activity, so that it continues to grow and strengthen -he assured- and with an Olympic tatami that will allow us to have a higher quality of training and receive delegations for tournaments national and international”, concluded Navarro.
