To the Cup, with homework done (33-24)

Bera Bera beats Guardés with fewer problems than expected and will be league champions if they win on May 7 in Gijón

The Super Amara Bera Bera took a giant step towards the title this afternoon after beating Mecalia Atlético Guardés by nine goals (33-24) at the Gasca. Thus, the women from San Sebastian depend on themselves to proclaim themselves champions of the Liga Guerreras Iberdrola the next day, after the Cup, if they win at home against Unicaja Banco Gijón.

Regarding today’s game, Bera Bera -who had Mirene Moreno out at the last minute due to a sore finger- knew how to perfectly read the game imposed by the Galician team and, except for the ten equal first few minutes, has dominated from start to finish. In fact, the 17-11 break was already practically definitive.

In the second half Guardés has tried not to get off the hook thanks to a successful Santiago -he has scored five of the first six goals of his own-, but the great defense of those trained by Imanol Álvarez and the success on the counterattack have only increased the difference.
