High visitor from America. On Sunday, a large delegation of 777 Partners, the investment company that will take over Standard, was a guest at Sclessin for the league match against Union (1-3 loss). Josh Wander, strongman and the face of 777, was mentored by the likes of John W. Pasko (777 co-founder), Juan Arciniegas (managing director of the group), Andres Blazquez (CEO of Genoa, another club in the 777 network) and Jonathan Spors (Sporting Director of Genoa).

Later in the evening, the company had dinner with, among others, Standard chairman Bruno Venanzi, coach Luka Elsner and his T2 Will Still and Pierre Locht (head of youth training). As far as the organization chart is concerned, no decisions have yet been made. On Monday, however, several meetings were held with various heads of personnel (from the communication to the HR department) and presentations were given. The players have not yet been spoken to. The new owners announced a two-month transition period. The search for a new CEO and CFO is in full swing.

Venanzi: loan of 4 million

But perhaps even more important at this point: the papers required by the License Commission for the takeover were all signed on Monday. Standard has to defend itself before the License Commission on Tuesday and in principle all obstacles have now been taken. The agreement states, among other things, that 777 will carry out a capital increase of 15 million euros. If the License Committee approves the documents, then nothing is closing of the acquisition, which is scheduled for April 15, is still in the way.

Another striking fact: according to our information, Bruno Venanzi recently loaned four million euros to Standard, so that the license would not become inappropriate. The money from the outgoing chairman was needed to ensure the continuity of the club. Think of paying (player) wages, social security and commissions. Venanzi will recover the money in installments over the coming months.

In the early evening, the people of 777 already left for Verona on Monday, where they attended the match between Hellas Verona and Genoa.
