The captain of FC “Liepāja” has been detained for driving under the influence

The website “liepajniekiem.lv” reported on April 4 that in the evening of April 2, a man who had been driving a Mercedes Benz CLA was arrested in Liepaja under the influence of alcohol and without a driver’s license. Meanwhile, on Facebook, the footballer previously posted a photo of him right next to the aforementioned car.

The police were told by the police that criminal proceedings had been instituted for driving under the influence of alcohol and without rights.

According to the Criminal Law, for driving without a driving license (driving license has not been obtained or deprived in accordance with certain procedures) and if the driver is under the influence of alcohol, the offender is punishable by up to one year imprisonment or temporary deprivation of liberty, or with probation supervision, or with community service, or with a fine, deprivation of the right to drive for a period of up to five years

Dāvids Jansons, a representative of the “Liepāja” unit, said in a conversation with “Sportacentrs.com” that according to the information available to the team, Dodo has not left the field because he was ill, but has been training with the team since the beginning of the week and could return to the field on Thursday.

Dodo has not left the field since April 1, skipping two games. In both matches, his non-play was a big surprise, as the team had not previously informed him that one of the leaders might not be on the pitch.

“Liepāja” has not experienced any losses in five rounds and is in the leading position of the tournament table with 15 points. Liepāja residents will play the next game on Thursday, hosting the “Auda” team in their field.
