THE BALL – Warning to Lewandowski: «This is not like in Football Manager» (Bayern Munich)

The soap opera surrounding the future of Robert Lewandowski continues, whose contract with Bayern Munich expires at the end of next season. This Sunday, before the meeting with Arminia Bielefeld, Oliver Kahn, president of the club, gave a serious warning to the Polish striker.

“We are in contact with Robert and we want him to stay at Bayern for as long as possible, but some people think this is like Football Manager, where you click the buttons and the player renews. We know perfectly well that Lewandowski is capable of scoring 30, 40 goals every year and that he has won everything here, sometimes it takes some time to convince these players to stay with us.

– We know well what we owe the player but there has to be respect from the other side as well. We don’t let anyone pressure us when it comes to crucial decisions for the club. We have to remember that the last two years were also difficult for Bayern and we have to see the best way to manage the situation”, underlined the former goalkeeper, in statements to the Sport1.
