Arne Slot has indicated between the lines that he would have liked Feyenoord not to have to play this weekend. The match against Fortuna Sittard falls in between the European obligations of the Rotterdammers, but the KNVB did not cooperate.
In the interview after the first leg against Olympique Marseille, which was won 3-2, Slot said intimately that he would have liked more help from the KNVB. “If you want to reach the final of a European tournament and you meet Marseille, you will have to be very good there in the away game. Fortunately we are free on Sunday, oh no, not!”
The smiling Feyenoord coach clearly thinks his own about the decision of the association. “After Sunday we will have at least a few days of rest and we will in any case have to be very fit and good in Marseille to achieve a result. Whether this was a joke for the KNVB? That is how you want it to work. lay.”
