Saint-Louis International Judo Tournament: The resumption after a 2-year break

The Saint-Louis International Judo Tournament will be held on May 14 and 15, 2022 at the Didier Marie de Sindoné complex. For this 23rd edition, the emphasis will be on the reunion between the Organizing Committee of the tournament and the family of the founding father of the event, Ababacar Mbaye Boye.

At a press briefing, yesterday Wednesday, at the Mawade Wade stadium, in the presence of Khady Fall, eldest daughter of Ababacar Fall alias Mbaye Boye, the president of the Organizing Committee, Aïcha Sy Tall, welcomed this reunion which, according to her, were wanted by everyone.

For the president of the Northern Judo League, Ngor Faye, it was simply a small communication problem, but there is nothing major. “I can’t speak of a dispute between us, only there was a communication problem. The proof, when we met on the first Saturday of Ramadan, it was like there was nothing. So I think there is no problem between judo players in Saint-Louis,” Mr. Faye argued.

For the tournament itself, the Organizing Committee has chosen May 14 and 15. Regarding the competition, President Aïcha Sy Tall informed that four countries (Mauritania, Gambia, Guinea Conakry and Mali) have confirmed their participation. The president of the Senegalese Federation of Judo and Similar Disciplines (FSJDA), Babacar Makhtar Wade, was chosen this year as sponsor.
