Raja-Al Ahly and Wydad-CR Belouizdad in the quarterfinals

Raja and Wydad, the two Moroccan clubs qualified for the quarter-finals of the CAF Champions League, know their opponents. And the least we can say is that the Raja will come across heavy. Indeed, at the end of the draw which took place this Tuesday in Cairo, the Greens will have to whip hard to overcome the club of the century in Africa, Al Ahly, winner of the title ten times. For the WAC, the task seems less difficult. The Reds face the Algerian club CR Belouizdad.

Raja will face Al Ahly in the quarter-finals, the opponent feared by all seeded players. The first leg duel will take place on April 15 at the Cairo International Stadium. The return match will be held on April 23 at the Mohammed V sports complex.

Placed in pot number 2, Al Ahly was the opponent that nobody wanted and it was Raja who inherited it. The two teams met in December 2021 in the African Super Cup won by the Cairo club on penalties. The two teams tied (1-1) at the end of regulation time. In the event of qualification, Raja will face the winner of the Espérance de Tunis-Entente de Sétif match.

The WAC had a lenient draw. He will be opposed to the Algerian club, CR Belouizdad. The outward duel will take place on April 16 and the return on the 22nd of the same month. In the event of qualification, the Reds will be opposed to the winner of the Mamelodi Sundowns – Petro Luanda encounter.
