PSG: Ramos, the underside of a complicated adaptation

While he has finally just chained two consecutive tenures this season, in Angers and against Lens, Sergio Ramos, 36, gave an interview to the PSG site in which he looks back on the months which followed his arrival, free, of Madrid, last July.

Faced with the images of his rare appearances, the central defender first acknowledges: “In the end, I only spent a few hours with the Paris Saint-Germain jersey on the pitch, at my best level of form. I can’t wait to show off all the football I have left with my new team. »

He also evokes “wonderful moments with Thilo (Kehrer) who is a good friend” in the face of images of a “celebration worthy of the NBA” after his goal against Reims. “It’s the reflection of a lot of sacrifices and efforts,” he slips. He also mentions Keylor Navas “who is my brother”. “We had an extraordinary and unique relationship at Real,” he said. Being here with him has helped me”.

Because Ramos concedes, not everything was easy when he arrived after 16 years at Real Madrid. “At first the adaptation was a bit difficult,” he says. I spent many years in another club, we had control over everything: the house, the staff, your team, the four children, the schools. It was not easy to make such a big change in a city as spectacular as Paris. We struggled to find a house. »

On the other hand, on the sporting level, he welcomes the context: “The adaptation in the team was very very good and fast because I knew certain players. There are the Latino players that I already knew and also French players like Kimpembe and many who are here. I was lucky in that.”
