Premier League: Serena Williams and Lewis Hamilton join Martin Broughton’s bid to buy Chelsea

After the departure of Roman Abrmovich as owner of Chelseathere are many millionaires who have been interested in controlling the English club.

The seven-time F1 world champion and 23-time Grand Slam winner have agreed to invest an estimated €20m (€24m) in the consortium headed by former Liverpool FC chairman Sir Martin Broughton.

A source close to the group said that the incorporation of Hamilton and Serena is given for the many investments they have outside of their respective sports. In fact, the 40-year-old tennis player has not played a tournament since the last edition of Wimbledon when she lost to the Belarusian Sasnovich.
