Montreal. Judo: three new belts

Definitely, local judo hovers over all championships and tournaments. Nine young people from the club have just made the dream of all judokas come true: “to be a black belt”. Timothée Chaib, Ezio Piquemal and Kilian Charles did it to the delight of their parents, of course, but also for all the members of the club.

The youngest, like the older ones, achieved very good performances in the South zone championship, Benjamins category. They are five to reach the highest level of the competition. On April 23 and 24, they will participate in the Occitanie final. Congratulations and good luck for the future to Chloé Bazy, Jeanne Fabre, Lisa Bigou, Gabin Vidal and Cassandra Guijarro. The next generation is therefore there for this sport which, let’s remember, has nearly a hundred followers under the club’s banner.

Pétanque: a triplet in eighths. On Sunday, the Aude triplet championships took place in the areas of Carcassonne. Three teams took part in this confrontation which brought together more than 150 triplets from the qualifications. Two triplets came out of the pool and fell in the round of 16: Laurent Sanchez, Jean Marc Vielmas and Pascal Ferrière; Yan Pertel, Philippe Stantisteve and Baptiste Godeffroy. Next Sunday, the players will return to the base of this sport, the “Provençal”, on the grounds of Azille.

PLM XV: it will be Maureillas. We were waiting for the results of the play-offs. On their grass, the Catalans of Maureillas won their meeting against Auterive 28-0. They will therefore be the hosts of PLM next Sunday on the ground of Bram. On this occasion, supporters will be able to meet for the meal (starter, main course and dessert, plus entry to the stadium for 20 euros). Register with Alain Andrieu, on 06 03 92 63 78.

Congratulations to the reservists, who held off Olonzac 33 to 29, who was first in his group.
