The news was given by Yocoima Mata, a member of the board of directors of the Venezuelan Professional Baseball League (LVBP) through his twitter account. “Today (Sunday) I have my second joy: one of my boys was assigned his number as Major League referee Carlos Torres, 37, I wait for the others,” Mata wrote on the social network Twitter.

Now the Venezuelans will not be watching Miguel Cabrera’s hits or Felix Hernandez’s starts, but they will also have their eyes on Carlos Torres’ performances as umpire.
