Lonzo Ball is apparently threatened with the end of the season

The Chicago Bulls will likely be without Lonzo Ball for the rest of the season. According to media reports, the rehabilitation after his meniscus operation in his left knee is not going as desired.

Wie Adrian Wojnarowski (ESPN) reported that Ball’s knee did not react as desired in rehab, instead there are said to have been setbacks. That’s why the Bulls are pessimistic that Ball can get back into action in the playoffs.

There is no final decision yet, but the Bulls want to meet with Ball’s agency Klutch in the coming days to discuss how to proceed. Also Shams Charania (The Athletic) reports something similar. Accordingly, Ball still does not feel comfortable with his knee, although various methods have been tried in rehab. The 24-year-old also continues to have pain in said knee.

Ball joined the Bulls in the summer via a sign-and-trade deal from New Orleans, signing for four years and $80 million. However, the point guard was only able to play in 35 games, Ball averaged 13.0 points, 5.4 rebounds, 5.1 assists and 1.8 steals.

When Ball was on the court, the Bulls won almost 66 percent of their games, but the point guard has been out of action since mid-January. Since then, the Bulls have won 18 games and lost 21. That’s still enough for the sixth-best record in the East (45-34), but Chicago is already firmly in line for the playoffs.
