Les Fêlées did it: Two Tarnaises won the Amazon Raid in Sri Lanka

They did! Two Tarnaises won the 21e edition of Raid Amazons. A 100% female, solidarity and itinerant raid, which took place au Sri Lanka and came to an end on Monday April 4, 2022 after six days of intense competition. Their name ? The Cracks.

They have finished raw out of 70 in the two-man category. It is Johanna Salvagepharmacy technician at Labruguiere (Tarn) and Emilie Cucullièresalso from Labruguière, but who is a professional firefighter in Haute-Garonne.

They accomplished this feat for the association Parent’s House In Toulouse.

The Raid Amazones celebrated its 20 years. And the adventurers from all over the world (divided into teams of two or three), chained many sporting events for six days: running, mountain biking, trail running, canoeing, archery, and even treasure hunting. …

As a reminder, the Amazon Raid is the only raid 100% feminine where competitors go on an adventure to a different exotic country each year to discover themselves through sport and travel. Divided into teams of two or three, hundreds of “Amazons” challenge each other for six days, in the “very” early morning, in several disciplines, all in total immersion in nature. In the afternoon, the sports raid gives way to activities focused on meeting the local population.

The experience

The Raid Amazones is also a solidarity event, thanks to actions in support of a local association focused on the education of children.

On 2018, the “cracked” young women had already finished on the podium of a comparable competition, the trade winds raidand Martinique.
