Latvian tennis players lose the first two games in the King’s Cup duel with Canada

The Canadian outperformed almost all of the statistics alone, making more double mistakes (4: 1) and Semenista making better use of three out of three break points, while Fernandes managed to turn seven out of nine break points into a point.

In the second fight, Vismane (WTA 267) conceded to Rebecca Marino (WTA 111) with 3-6, 7-6 (7: 4), 3-6.

Vismane won the first game in the game, serving the opponent, but in the next game she could not win with her service, losing again in the eighth game, standing on the service line.

In the second game, both tennis players won their service games, but in Taiwan only the first game was lost by Vismane. After 1: 3, she reached 6: 3, winning the set.

The third set was separated by the sixth game lost by Vismene, in which she served.

Marino served much better – 17 elusive services, while the Latvian tennis player did not succeed.

Although the Latvian was more often on the court after the service ball, the opponent scored more points – both after the first (80%: 62%) and the second (60%: 59%) service.

The Canadian scored half (3/6) break points, Vismane – 33% (1/3).

Marino (104/87) also scored more points throughout the match. Marino had both more scoring shots (30/9) and more free errors (55/29).

Vismane and Fernandes, as well as Semenista and Marino, are scheduled to fight on Saturday. In doubles, Diāna Marcinkēviča together with Līga Dekmeijer will fight against Gabriel Dabrovski and Kerola Zhao.

The 19-year-old Semenista won seven International Tennis Federation (ITF) tournaments last year and was the top tennis player on the tour. For the first time in her career this season, she has won a W-25 tournament, and this is her only title so far this year.

Her peer Fernandes raced to the final of the US Open last year and has already won two WTA titles, both in Monterrey, Mexico. Three years ago, a Canadian won the junior tournament in the French Open.

Meanwhile, 21-year-old Vismane won the last of her three ITF trophies last year, winning the W-25 tournament in Liepaja. At the beginning of the month, she did not qualify for the WTA 250 in Bogota.

Ten-year-old Marino has repeatedly taken a break from his career and has no titles on the WTA tour. In 2011, she reached the final of the Memphis tournament and in the same year rose to 38th place in the world rankings.
