Author of a double and three assists on Sunday evening in front of Lorient, Kylian Mbappé has again demonstrated that he has become the undisputed boss of PSG. Passing in front of the microphones, the tricolor world champion spoke of his good pass and a future that he does not rule out writing in Paris.
Two goals and three assists… Are you in your best shape since joining PSG?
KYLIAN MBAPPE. I’m in for a great time, but I don’t know if this is the best. In any case, I am in the spirit of helping my team to perform. Tonight, I managed to help my teammates, that’s what I wanted.
How do you explain the small air pocket of PSG at the start of the second half?
(Amused). Honestly, I don’t understand either! We had a good first half and when we came back, we had a ten-minute air gap, we gave up a goal… The only explanation I can give is that I didn’t understand (laughs).
We had left Paris on a complicated performance in Monaco. To what can you attribute the best face displayed tonight?
The international break has done us good. Being able to change the air, having another atmosphere has been good for a lot of players. For many, the climate was heavy. It was our fault, of course, but it was heavy all the same. We came back with more energy and it showed. It was less of a senators game. I think we saw that we had fun on the pitch. I hope we gave some too.
Have you made a decision about your future?
No no ! I haven’t decided. I’m calm, I take the time to make the best decision because I don’t want to be wrong.
Have you recently mentioned any new elements? What did you want to talk about?
There is no need to blablater, these are new elements (laughs). Things to consider. It’s not an easy decision, I’m trying to make the best possible with my family.
Is the fact that you take your time a good sign for Paris?
Pfff (he laughs) Frankly, I don’t know, I don’t know.
But is staying at PSG possible?
Yes of course !
During the last Parisian outing, the Park was angry. That was less the case tonight….
It’s normal, the public has the right to express its dissatisfaction. Today there were whistles but it remained respectful. The spectators expressed their disappointment, they have the right. They were disappointed, so were we. But against Bordeaux it was too much because they took on some players. But we’re all in the same boat, we all screwed up! There, they took no part in anyone and we did our work on the ground.
They whistled some but still chanted your name. Can these marks of affection affect your future?
I always savor the present moment. I’m happy as a kid to have this affection from people. A whole stadium like the Parc des Princes that screams your name is not nothing. I try to give people back the affection they give me.
You have always displayed your desire to be the best player in the world. Do you think you are today?
I always wanted to be, it’s true. But to say that I am would be presumptuous. Maybe I am, maybe I’m not. That’s for people to say. I try to show what I can do. If people think that I am so much the better, if not so much the worse, there is no death of man.
