In the East, the Cavaliers and the Hornets impose themselves as bosses in the NBA

This Sunday, several franchises of the Eastern Conference of the NBA were at work. The Cleveland Cavaliers outscored the Milwaukee Bucks (133-115) while the Charlotte Hornets got the better of the Washington Wizards (124-108). In the other meetings of the evening, the Nets dominated the Pacers (134-126) and the Atlanta Hawks won in Houston at the Rockets (130-114).

Kyrie Irving notably scored 35 points and allowed the Nets to clinch the seventh seed in the Eastern Conference. The Nets (44 wins – 38 losses) will host the Cleveland Cavaliers in a play-in game on Tuesday. Brooklyn shares the same record as the Cavaliers. A victory on Tuesday would therefore advance them in the main draw of the play-offs. A loss, on the other hand, would force them to play a second game on Friday against the loser of the play-in game between the Atlanta Hawks and the Charlotte Hornets. Still in the East, Milwaukee is guaranteed to finish in second or third place.
