Hollager Judoka: Finally “Dojo Night” again

“Finally!” That was probably the most used word by participants and coaches as well as supervisors during the “Dojo-Night” conducted by the judo department of Blau-Weiss Hollage on the first weekend of the Easter holidays.

After a corona-related break in 2020 and 2021, it took almost 2.5 years until a traditional event of the judo department could finally take place again. The anticipation was correspondingly high on all sides to finally be able to return to a little normalcy.

Due to the high incidence, it was not quite certain until shortly before the event whether the event could actually be held. Thanks to a responsible, own hygiene concept and a responsible commitment by trainers/supervisors to the situation, it was finally time again on the first weekend in April.

From Friday to Sunday, a good 30 judoka and 10 supervisors romped around in the training hall on Bergstraße and enjoyed a varied sports program. With the implementation of different exercise units, joint excursions, creatively organized breaks and joint overnight stays in the hall with a cinema feeling, the participants were offered a multifaceted weekend. The leisure time was rounded off with delicious food and many small surprises. The main focus, however, was on conveying the fun of different physical movements, which has been neglected in the past two years. The organization was supported thanks to funds from the state sports federation from the program “Startklar in die Zukunft” and made many nice surprises possible that would not have been possible without this support.

The judo department would like to thank Jenny Juber and the J-Team of the department, who together organized the Dojo Night 2022 with a lot of passion.
