Pep Guardiola Will Handle Brazil National Team?

The Brazilian Football Confederation (CBF) has yet to make an approach for Pep Guardiola to replace Tite as their national team coach, confirms GOAL.

Mark reported this week that the Selecao had contacted the Manchester City manager and were willing to pay him around £10m per year to take over when Tite left his post.

Tite will step down from his position after the World Cup in Qatar at the end of this year and the CBF is looking for a replacement.

GOAL confirms, so far no official contact has been made with Guardiola.

What do we know?

Currently, the CBF is only evaluating available candidates to be Tite’s successor.

There will be no debate about Tite’s successor before the World Cup as the Selecao are fully focused on fighting for the title in Qatar.

However, Guardiola is one of the candidates chosen by former CBF president Rogerio Caboclo.

Plus, the current president, Ednaldo Rodrigues, is not against hiring a foreign coach to replace Tite.

What did Guardiola say?

Guardiola hints he would rather not take over as Brazil coach when asked TNT Sports.

“Brazil has its own very good Brazilian coach who has to coach the national team,” said Guardiola.

“There are coaches from Brazil who are very good. The debate is closed.”

Where will Tite go?

Tite will end his tenure as Brazil coach at the end of the year following the World Cup in Qatar.

Tite, who coached the national team in 2016, was recently linked with a move to Arsenal to replace Mikel Arteta.

However, the 60-year-old coach denied the news: “I apologize to Arsenal, but the information [bahwa saya tertarik dengan pekerjaan itu] didn’t come from us and was nothing at all.”

“At a time when there is so much ‘fake news’, misinformation makes me sad and I hope this is corrected.”
