German Europa League final in the works: Eintracht Frankfurt takes the measure of West Ham | UEFA Europa League 2021/2022

Eintracht Frankfurt stunted in the quarter-finals by eliminating Barcelona and thus managed to secure a place in the semi-finals. It was presented with a tough opponent: West Ham United.

The Germans immediately had a dream start: after fifty seconds Ansgar Knauff managed to open the score with a good header. West Ham reacted immediately, Jarrod Bowen hit the post.

It turned out to be a stay of execution: not much later Kurt Zouma extended a free kick with his head to Michaeil Antonio who processed the 1-1 in goal. At the end of the first half, Knauff missed a big chance for a new German lead.

Frankfurt also continued to threaten in the second half and took the lead again via Daichi Kamada (ex-STVV). With a spectacular overhead kick, Jarrod Bowen seemed to turn the tide after all, but the ball exploded on the crossbar.

With the victories of Leipzig and Frankfurt we seem to be on our way to a German Europa League final in Seville.
