Los Angeles Angels Star Mike Trout Set to Undergo Knee Surgery, Season in Jeopardy

One of the greatest hitters of all time, Los Angeles Angels star outfielder Mike Trout will see another season derailed by injury.

Journalist Jeff Passan of the ESPN network reported Tuesday that Trout will have to undergo surgery on his left knee after only 29 games played in the regular season.

Passan says that in all likelihood, Trout is not in danger of missing the entire 2024 season.

The 32-year-old center fielder, who has 378 home runs and 1,648 hits in Major League Baseball, is reportedly suffering from a torn meniscus.

This season, Trout already had ten long balls to his credit. His batting average, however, has been rather ordinary so far, at .220.

The Angels entered the day with an 11-18 record in their first season since the departure of Shohei Ohtani as a free agent.

Trout was the American’s Most Valuable Player in 2014, 2016 and 2019.
