Former tennis player Yves Allegro back in front of Valais justice – rts.ch

In Valais, the appeal trial of Yves Allegro began on Tuesday morning. The former professional tennis player has so far received a two-year suspended prison sentence for sexual coercion. If the prosecutor still accuses him of rape, he continues to claim his innocence.

The complainant spoke for the first time Tuesday morning before judges. She answered questions from the three judges of the Cantonal Court, in the absence of Yves Allegro who had to leave the room.

During the hearing, which lasted less than half an hour, the questions were limited to her taking sleeping pills at the time of the events and the therapy she has since followed. At first instance, it was around this argument that Yves Allegro’s lawyers had built a large part of their defense, highlighting the hallucinations that this type of drug could cause.

The complainant replied that she regularly took sleeping pills when traveling abroad, but that this was not the case during her stay in Estonia during which she allegedly suffered violent sexual acts in the hotel room. by Yves Allegro.

The judges questioned the Valaisan about the complainant’s injuries, which cannot be attributed to hallucinations. The ex-tennis player replied that he had no recollection of much of the drunken evening.

However, he assured not to have inflicted injuries or forced the victim to do anything. The next day, when he discovered women’s clothes around his bed, he explained that he had at most imagined that something could have happened between a man and a woman in a hotel room.

Three years in prison instead of four

Yves Allegro, on the other hand, was not questioned about the evidence put forward by the prosecution, namely his seminal fluid found on the complainant’s panties. Nor on the exchanges of disturbing SMS, the day after the alleged facts.

These points are only discussed by the lawyers and the prosecutor. The latter is now asking for three years in prison instead of four at first instance, due to the passage of time and the fact that Yves Allegro left Swiss Tennis by mutual agreement.
