Yamaha RNF Racers Andrea Dovizioso admits to making a fundamental mistake so that he has to bite his finger in MotoGP Argentina.
Dovizioso failed to win points from the Argentine MotoGP series. After the race Dovizioso admitted to making a fundamental mistake that made him unable to perform optimally at the beginning of the race.
“I’m very disappointed, something like this has never happened to me. I made a mistake and forgot to release the front start device button at the first corner. I didn’t change the lever.”
“I didn’t think about it even though everything seemed to be stuck, but when I stopped at the pitlane I realized that it was my fault,” said Dovizioso in Yamaha’s RNF release.
Dovizioso realized the mistake after he entered the pits at the end of the first lap. By the time Yamaha’s RNF mechanic fixed the problem on his bike, Dovizioso was already three laps behind the race leaders.
“I’m very sorry to the team for something like this, something that didn’t need to happen. It can happen when I’m not feeling relaxed.”
“I didn’t feel comfortable, I didn’t ride the bike well, and I didn’t maximize the fire potential of the bike plus the pressure,” said Dovizioso.
Dovizioso finally returned to the track and carved quite an impressive time. According to Dovizioso, this could be capital to prepare for the United States MotoGP.
“At least my pace was pretty good at the end, although I certainly can’t be happy to see this week’s result.”
“I hope we can do better in Austin,” said Dovizioso.
