Employees have a say in donations

The Gemeinhardt Service GmbH presented five clubs from the region with 500 euros each. What are they going to do with the money?

The two managing directors Walter Stuber and Dirk Eckart asked their employees in which clubs they are active and which larger projects are planned. Five clubs from the region have been selected to be supported by the scaffolding company with 500 euros each.

“There used to be five colorful birdhouses in our company. Each stood for a social project. Employees and visitors could drop donations into these,” said Dirk Eckart. After a renovation, the houses were no longer hung up. “Nevertheless, we want to donate some of our profits to social causes. Our employees have a say in the selection of clubs,” Eckart continues.

Lebenshilfe organizes a trip to the Baltic Sea

Accountant Janine Stuber’s suggestion was to make a donation to Lebenshilfe Döbeln. “The association has been supporting the families of mentally handicapped people for 30 years,” says Janine Stuber. Club chairmen Petra Fichtner and Petra Brandt are happy about the donation. Once a year, the association organizes a trip for people with mental or multiple disabilities.

“This year we are going to the Polish Baltic Sea for six days. We want to use the money to pay entrance fees, for example,” says Petra Brandt. “Such a trip would cost too much for our members at the travel agency. That’s why it’s important that we organize the trips,” emphasizes Petra Fichtner.

Big party for the Riesa dance club

Kristin May, whose father Dirk works in the company, and Marlen Lempe have come from the “Live” dance studio in Riesa. “We organized a big club party for the first time. We want to show our parents and grandparents our dances. We can use the money to organize the festival,” said Kristin May.

At the same time, the festival also serves as a dress rehearsal before the start of the season. The club’s seven groups are active in show and modern dance and also compete in competitions and championships.

Excursion to Hygiene Museum

The Döbelner sports club wants to use the 500 euros to support the judo department. “Our 11th Boot Cup tournament is coming up in September. This is a highlight in the competition calendar for the judoka,” said Jens Abel from the judo department. The effort for the tournament is great, so the donation is well invested, says Abel.

The Döbeln Rainbow School Association wants to use the donated money to organize a trip to the Hygiene Museum in Dresden. “The project ‘Our body’ is running at the school, and various events are planned for this in May,” said headmistress Heike Becker. The money should be used to pay the entrance fee, among other things, adds the club’s chairwoman Jeannette Tichy.

The Christian School Association in Döbeln-Technitz also receives 500 euros. The money is to be used to purchase sun protection for the open space.
