Digne, injured again, comes out early against Wolves

The Aston Villa defender came out shortly before the quarter hour mark against Wolverhampton on the 31st day of the Premier League.

A relapse for Lucas Digne? Injured in the thigh in mid-March, the defender was still able to hold his rank with the France team. On the bench against Côte d’Ivoire, the left-hander had played the entire match against South Africa on March 29.

Released after ten minutes of play against West Ham on March 13, Lucas Digne regained his starting place with Aston Villa this Saturday. The 28-year-old defender lined up from the start against Wolverhampton. This time, it was after 13 minutes that the former Lille player had to leave his place. The club has not yet communicated on his injury.

On the field, Aston Villa lost 2-1 on the lawn of Wolverhampton. A goal from Jonny Castro very early in the match (7th) for the locals before the exit of the Frenchman a few minutes later (13th). A change that is expensive since it is Ashley Young, with an own goal, which allows Wolves to make the break shortly after the half-hour mark (36th). Ollie Watkins scored a penalty late in the game (86th) to close the gap. In the standings, Bruno Lage’s men are seventh. Those of Steven Gerrard fell to tenth place.
