De Mos about Eindhoven’s problem: ‘All PSV keepers have to leave’

Aad de Mos thinks PSV would do well to replace the entire goalkeeper selection. Joël Drommel, Maxime Delanghe and Vincent Müller are all not strong enough for the Eindhoven club, the former trainer and analyst thinks.

De Mos joins the General Newspaper† “All PSV keepers have to leave”, the former coach starts. “Mvogo is already going, but I would also say goodbye to Drommel, Delanghe and Müller. All not good enough.”

De Mos also points to the past. “PSV has a history with Van Breukelen, Van Beveren and Gomes. None of those four comes even slightly near them and will not come there either. And if PSV wants to belong to the best 32 in Europe, the club must start with the foundation,” said De Mos, who was in charge of PSV between 1993 and 1994.

The former trainer also responds to the rumor that PSV is interested in Jasper Cillessen. “All teams that win trophies have good goalkeepers. Cillessen? Don’t do it, always sick, weak or nauseous. I would go for a young goalkeeper, with the potential to become the absolute top,” he continues. “You have to make sure you find them through your network in Brazil or Argentina. That’s where good keepers come from these days.”
