Coppa Italia 2002 (women’s basketball)

The 2002 Italian Cup (also called Memorial Filippo Marchegiani) was the 17th edition of the trophy reserved for the companies of the Italian Serie A1 women’s basketball championship. It was held between 9 October 2001 and 4 April 2002. All the teams in the championship took part in the competition except the Sicilian ones (Rescifina Messina, Trogylos Priolo and Libertas Termini Imerese)[2]. In a first phase, the teams were divided into 4 groups; the winners qualified for the final four.[3]

Basket Parma, sponsored by Meverin, confirmed its third title and won the Italian Cup by beating Famila Schio in the final.[1]
