The basketball players from Syntainics MBC missed a surprise by a hair’s breadth. The team from Weißenfels lost 82:83 (48:49) in fourth place in the Bundesliga table. Nicolas Bretzel (18) scored the decisive basket for the home side 17 seconds before the end. The attempt by Albert Jay English from Weißenfels in the last second just missed his target. In addition to Bretzel, Jaron Blossomgame (20), Semaj Christon (18) and Karim Jallow (11) had the largest share in the fourth success of the playoff candidate. Reggie Upshaw (22), Goran Huskic (13) and Jamel Morris (12) scored the most points for the Central Germans.

The team from Weißenfels, who arrived with three defeats in a row, played courageously against the favorites and were ahead by 24:12 after seven minutes. The hosts practically took the lead for the first time with the half-time whistle at 49:48, but were not able to gain more than five points (53:48/22nd). Both teams fought an open exchange of blows until the final whistle. In the final seconds, Ulm had the necessary bit of luck on their side.
