Basketball Africa League President meets CAF Secretary General

iGFM (Dakar) The President of the Basketball Africa League, Amadou Gallo Fall paid a courtesy visit to CAF headquarters in Cairo where he met CAF Secretary General, Veron Mosengo-Omba, according to a statement from the Confederation African football (CAF).

The visit follows previous interactions with CAF President Dr. Patrice Motsepe during the TotalEnergies Africa Cup of Nations final in Cameroon last February.

Fall and Mosengo-Omba discussed initiatives related to the growth of the sports industry in Africa and possible areas of collaboration.

Foster closer working relationships

Mosengo-Omba said, “We have a lot in common with basketball. During the visit, we discussed a number of initiatives that could foster closer working relationships between us and areas of mutual interest. We also discussed how we can grow the sports industry in Africa and strengthen business activity. We will continue these discussions in the future. I thank Amadou for the visit and we look forward to possible future collaborations. »

Fall added: “I don’t see football as a competition. The Africa Cup of Nations is actually one of my favorite tournaments. It is about harnessing the potential and talents we have on the continent, to ultimately create a sports industry through grassroots development, infrastructure and capacity building using the mobilizing and transformative power of basketball and football. »
