Bad news for Roland Garros fans: the tournament in incomplete mode on RTBF

An unmissable event for fans of the little yellow ball, Roland-Garros will take place from May 22 to June 5 in Paris. This year, however, the RTBF, which usually broadcasts the entire tournament, will offer a less complete catalog to its loyal viewers. Tipik and the Auvio platform will continue to broadcast the matches which will take place, as usual, between 11 a.m. and 8 p.m. and will play extra time if, of course, the last match being broadcast drags on.

Arrived last year after their success at the US Open and the Australian Open, the night sessions (night sessions) will not be broadcast on public service channels. Because Amazon Prime Video has acquired the rights for all of these night meetings scheduled from 8:45 p.m., on the Philippe Chatrier court.

Be careful though. If these night matches will be accessible to Amazon Prime Video subscribers in France, they will not be for Belgian subscribers to the online sales giant’s streaming platform. In Belgium, only viewers who have opted for the package including Eurosport, a channel of the Discovery group, will be able to follow these famous matches.

RTBF viewers who do not have these channels will therefore have to do without several large potential posters (to be determined when the draw for the matches of this 121st edition has taken place).

Contacted by us, the RTBF ensures that it will indeed broadcast the men’s singles final and the ladies’ singles final, usually scheduled at the beginning of the afternoon. For the rest, quarter-finals and semi-finals included, nothing is certain.

Those who don’t want to miss anything from the famous clay-court tournament will therefore have to equip themselves accordingly or else they will only be able to follow it partially.
