The Camargue in operation seduction at the agricultural show

This year, the Agricultural Show is hosting a stand reserved for the Camargue. Horse producers and breeders are part of the delegation. A way to discover specialties and traditions and to encourage tourism.

Bull sausage or chorizo, brandade, fleur de sel or sand wine… since the opening of the Agricultural Show, products from the Camargue have seduced curious visitors.

Taste is always a good introduction to promote your region, especially since in Paris, not everyone knows the Camargue. “People are very curious, they ask a lot of questions”rejoices Julie Richard, a project manager at the Agricultural Show. “They want to know how things are done at home and are very interested in our traditions and the horse.”

The Camargue horse, Margaux Ferrus knows him perfectly. This rider won the first prize for complicity with her mare. “We try to promote the breed as much as possible”explains the rider. “We try to show our little horses as much as possible during the presentations. We explain how we work with them, our somewhat special riding as it is one-handed riding. Above all, we want to make people dream.”

To introduce the public to this breed of horse, the region offers horseback archery demonstrations. The discipline has its own federation and is a great tool for promoting the profession of breeder. “This complicity with horses, we claim it, we value it through our traditions, our cultures, it is all that makes our authenticity”analyzes Thierry Trazic, the president of the breeders of Camargue horses. “We must also remember that since the man arrived in the Camargue, he has always worked in collaboration with the bull and that they are inseparable from each other. It is important to promote it.”

The Camargue delegation is staying at the agricultural show until Sunday to promote its values ​​and culture.
