Osaka returns to the court with a victory in the first round of the Indian Wells tournament – Tennis

Osaka, who currently ranks only 78th in the WTA, was superior in three sets with 3-6, 6-1, 6-2.

Before the match, Osaka played his last game in early January in the Australian Open, where he lost to third-time tennis player Amanda Anisimova.

In the second round, Osaka’s opponent will be the neutral athlete Veronika Kudermetova (24th WTA), whose first round was free.

Alona Ostapenko, the first racket of Latvian women’s tennis, will start the second round of the prestigious tournament on Saturday.

Ostapenko, who is ranked 12th in the WTA, is in tenth place in the tournament.

In the second round, she will meet the American Shelby Rogers (WTA 49), who beat the Spaniard Nuriy Parris-Dias (WTA 45) 6-1, 5-7, 7-6 (7: 3) in the first round on Thursday.
