Memphis dominates Golden State and almost secures its second place in the West

With three players at more than twenty points (Desmond Bane, 22 pts; De’Anthony Melton, 21 pts; Dillon Brookos, 21 pts), Memphis did not leave the Warriors much hope on Monday in Tennessee (123-95 ). This duel in the West between the second and the third in the Conference has largely turned to the advantage of the Grizzlies, who now have five wins ahead of their evening opponent (53v-23d). Memphis also remains on a fine series of five victories and nine successes in ten matches.

Bane and Melton, the two lighthouses of Memphis

As in the game last Saturday against Milwaukee (127-102), Bane and Melton were the two flagships of the Grizzlies, with between them a 10/15 from three points, and it was during the second quarter (43- 21) that the Tennessee franchise widened the gap, with a 16-0 which hurt the Warriors very badly, still deprived of Stephen Curry (5th loss in six games since his injury) and who had chosen to rest Draymond Green, Klay Thompson and Otto Porter Jr. The gap rose to 26 points during this second period (63-37), and to a maximum of 37 points at the start of the last quarter (110-73).

And despite Jordan Poole’s 25 points, Golden State remains on six losses in the last seven games. With a record of 48-28, the Californian club remains under threat from Dallas (46-29), Utah (45-30) and Denver (45-31) for third place.
