Jeonnam Office of Education Strengthens Support for Establishment of Educational Welfare Safety Net

Reporter Kim Jae-seong = The Jeollanam-do Office of Education will expand the educational welfare safety net construction project to 13 educational support offices in the province this year to provide customized welfare services for each region.

This year, the Jeollanam-do Office of Education plans to build a safety net for schools, families, and communities around the Office of Education to provide necessary services to vulnerable students in schools without educational welfare workers, thereby eliminating the blind spots in welfare.

In this regard, the Jeollanam-do Office of Education held a training to support the establishment of an educational welfare safety net at the Suncheon Bay Eco-Culture Education Center on the 8th (Tuesday) in the presence of 40 people, including a welfare officer in charge of the Office of Education Support, in attendance.

This training was held to provide customized welfare services for each region as the educational welfare safety net construction project was expanded to 13 education support offices this year.

In this training, the president of the Korean School Social Workers Association, Noh Kyung-eun, and others participated in the training to increase the understanding of the project on the educational welfare safety net and to provide intensive training on how to implement the safety net. In particular, by sharing case management with the representative of the Yeosu Office of Education, a pilot education support office last year, it was a great help to the newly started Office of Education.

Kim Jae-gi, head of the Safety and Welfare Division, said, “We expect that the educational welfare safety net construction project will lead to hope and opportunity through case management and sharing of implementation plans.”
